Hon. Joseph Muhinja Kamau, working with the County Roads Department, has graded, gravelled, and compacted nearly 10 kilometres of ward roads and redesigned the drainage system along TAI Sacco Road to reduce flooding.
Roads upgraded through grading, gravelling, and compaction
In collaboration with the County Roads Department, five roads across Githunguri Ward have been upgraded through grading, gravelling, and compaction:

Redesigned drainage along TAI Sacco Road
The drainage system along TAI Sacco Road has been redesigned to reduce flooding. Improved drainage protects the road surface from water damage and keeps the route passable during heavy rains.
Routine maintenance on rural access roads
Rural access roads across Githunguri Ward receive routine grading and maintenance. Ongoing maintenance keeps these roads usable between major upgrade projects and extends the lifespan of prior investments.
Gathigi Road: from hardcore to compaction
The Gathigi Road upgrade followed a full construction sequence. Hardcore stone was laid first to establish a stable base for the road.
Gravel was then spread across the Gathigi Road section ahead of compaction. The road was widened and graveled to improve capacity and safety for both vehicles and pedestrians.
A roller was used to compact the newly graveled surface. This final step produced a shaped, graveled, and compacted road ready for regular use.
