Solar Street Lighting Expansion Across Githunguri Ward

Project overview

Building on the progress already made in improving public lighting across Githunguri Township Ward, a new phase of solar street light installations is now underway across the ward.

The project is being implemented under the leadership of H.E. Governor Kimani Wamatangi and the Kiambu County Government, with Hon. Joseph Muhinja Kamau continuing to advocate for infrastructure improvements that respond to the everyday needs of residents.

The new installations are intended to extend reliable solar-powered lighting to additional areas of Githunguri, complementing the street-lighting infrastructure already established across the ward.

The development need

Adequate public lighting plays an important role in the daily lives of residents. Poorly lit roads and public spaces can make movement after dark more difficult for pedestrians, motorists, boda boda riders and local businesses.

Expanding street lighting provides better visibility along roads and in public spaces, helping create an environment where residents can move, work and conduct their activities with greater confidence after dark.
